Jacqueline Koung A Bessike Banks The Door Of life.
Wednesday June 2, 2021 was a black day for Cameroonians in general and the natives of Bafia in particular as the cold hands of death snatched Jacqueline Koung A Bessike the ever first female Secretary of State in Cameroon. She died in a hospital in Yaounde according to information gathered.
Emerging from the locality of Mbam and Inoubou Division of the Centre Region of Cameroon, the economic expert rich professional career in Ministries in Cameroon can never be underminded. She was appointed Secretary General at the Ministry of Tourism in 1995. This position she held after passing through the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security.
She was sent to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in 2003 where she worked for four years. After the years, Jacqueline Koung A Bessike was favoured with the post of Secretary General at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training. During the cabinet change in 2011, Jacqueline Koung A Bessike, was appointed as the Minister of State Property and Land Tenure following the re-election of President Paul Biya as Head of State a position she held for seven years. She was replaced in 2019 by Henri Eyebe Ayissi after cabinet reshuffle.
