Cameroon : Ni John Fru Ndi opens doors for titanic clash.

SDF National Chairman not standing for re-election.

Ni John Fru Ndi, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), has openly declared he will not stand for re-election as party chair in the upcoming Convention.

This declaration was made on February 11, 2021, at his Nkoufoulou residence in the outskirts of Yaounde during a press dinner. The stepping down of Ni John Fru Ndi as the National Chairman of the party, is opening doors for a titanic clash among the militants. SDF party members, who believe, can fit their legs into the chairman shoes should start bracing up for the task.

Who among the militants of the SDF party has the carisma, the oratic voice, like the chairman to take over the command mantle?. Is there any crowd puller like Ni John Fru Ndi? A member asked. According to Etienne Ndage, a media mind in Yaounde and an SDF sympathizer, there will be a tussle on the day of the election.

To him, the present Vice President of the party, Joshua Osih, stands a better chance. Following the party constitution, he added, the Vice President automatically takes over the chairmanship if the chairman resigns. An active militant of the The SDF party in Yaounde pointed out how they are completely disappointed with Joshua Osih, the Vice President.

If Jean-Michel Nintcheu puts his candidature to run for the post of the chairman we will vote for him. He explainsAdvanced age and health situation might be the reason why Ni John Fru Ndi who has toured Cameroon 22 times will not stand for re-election.
