Journalists of the private press who covered the March 2021 parliamentary session, have been lauded by the Secretary General of the National Assembly and his team for their professionalism, assiduity, commitment and the respect of ethics during the last session.
The appreciation was done during the evaluation meeting for the last session and in preparation for the next session slated for June 8th, 2021, at the conference hall of parliamentarians’ hotel. Mr Issa, the Sub Director of Communication at the National Assembly while appreciating the work done in terms of content and analysis, did not fail to castigate the fact that, some journalists and cameramen usually are poorly dressed and have made lateness a status quo.
At times, he added, those poorly dressed are in conflict with the forces of law and order. The Sub Director, pleaded with the journalists to do everything possible to ensure that events of special plenary sessions be on the top.Prince Mondi, a journalist of Vision 4 television on his part applauded the positive changes witnessed by the journalists last session.
He used the opportunity of the evaluation meeting that took place on the 1st of June 2021, to call on the workers of the National Assembly to provide TV journalists with images from the Web TV of the house each time they come late. Patrice Eya of Afrique Media TV, responding to the issue of journalists handing copies of their work to the communication department of the National Assembly made it clear that, it is risky for journalists to remove a paper out of the balk and hand it over.
We are going to make available hard copies of the documents especially when it comes to the bills. This will help solve the problem of information been sent via whatsapp. All we need is to know the number of journalists covering the session in order for us to produce the exact copy. Director Peter Ngomba explained.
Gaston Komba, the Secretary General of the National Assembly mentioned that, sensitizing the journalists and the cameramen on their dressing and late coming will be carried out. Lighting on the June Session, he pointed out that, they will be children parliament, issues of land title, electricity and water will be handled during the session.
