Politics : Two Cameroon Lawmakers Honoured With Prestigious Positions

The Posts of Deputy Chair and Executive Bureau Member Held By Cameroonians.

Honorable Elise Ndongo Moutome Pokossy Doumbe and Honorable Njingum Musa have been chosen as the Deputy Chair person and Executive Committee members respectively of the Executive Bureau of the African Parliamentary Network on Development Evaluation.

The two members of the Cameroon National Assembly were handed the positions on the 26 and 27 of August through a video conference.

Added to the Executive Bureau of the African Parliamentary Network on Development Evaluation known by the acronym APNODE, the secretary general of the National Assembly stated on Monday 6th September that the Speaker of the Lower House has embraced the news of the election of the two elected members of Parliament and pointed out that such move again brightens Cameroon’s diplomatic image.

The members of the Parliamentary Network for two days talked on how legislators’ capacities can be enhance in order to effectively check and monitor government actions.


They concord that it will open doors for accountability, as the government has taken special measures with the goal of stemming propagation of the corona virus pandemic.

The general assembly meeting of the Parliamentary Network was attended by members of over 15 African countries. Created in 2014 in Yaounde, the African Parliamentary Network on Development Evaluation gathers together about 30 countries on the continent. It has as objective parliamentarians and parliaments with an advocacy forum on development evaluation aiming to promote effective development and inclusive growth in Africa.

Honorable Elise Pokossy Doumbe hails from Wouri- East Constiuency in the Littoral Region while Honorable Musa is a member of parliament from Ngoketunjia North in the North West Region.
