Society: ICT UNIVERSITY YAOUNDE SENDS OUT 0VER 300 STUDENTS

PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO PRAISES THE FOUNDER FOR PROVIDING THE YOUTH WITH QUALITY EDUCATION.


Over 300 students including 13 PhD on Saturday, July 31, 2021, graduated from the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) University in Yaounde. The sixth batch of students from Cameroon, Africa and the world at large ready for the job market were urged to use the acquired skilled and make good use of any opportunity that comes their way so as to be agents of sustainable development.

The former President of Nigeria Obasanjo while addressing the students mentioned that “Opportunities can be found everywhere. In public health, farming, engineering, In business, accounting, politics, telecommunication, education, farming, engineering and management.” Speaking during the graduation ceremony held at the Yaounde Conference Centre, the former head of state pointed out that, the purpose of engaging in whatever one does is to be able to put food on his table. Before and after the COVID 19 pandemic, people must feed themselves. The students were made to understand that the graduation ceremony is just a preparatory ground for them to face their future.

He used the opportunity to hail the founder of the institution Prof. Victor Mbarika for investing in the training of future leaders. Prof. Victor Mbarika was made to understand that, he is not only investing in the graduating students but also in the others. Again, President Obasanjo revealed the founder is investing in their development, their today, family, community, future, country and their success. The graduation also witnessed the inauguration of the ICT University campus in Yaounde by President Obasanjo.


State Ministers like Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo of Higher Education that of Post and Telecommunications, Secondary Education and Yang Philemon former Prime Minister were present at the ceremony.
