Unidentified Gunmen Open Fire At Christians During Worship.

The shooting of Christians of the Presbyterian Church of Bali, in the North West Region on Sunday the 22nd August 2021 by unidentified armed men during worship has left the population of the Region in particular and those of Cameroon in general in complete shock and frustration.

The shooting that claimed the life of a Christian and left several others wounded including the pastor of the church who were rushed to the hospital is an indication that the innocent citizens of the region are the ones to pay the price of a useless war. The sacrilege committed by such persons in the house of God has been highly condemned by many Cameroon like Barrister Akere Muna who in his tweet states “This morning, worshippers in Bali in the northwest region of Cameroon were surprised by gunfire. I am overwhelmed by this act of sacrifice.

This is what we have become. My heart bleeds for the victims, their families and for the people of Bali.
To the President of the Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroonians Maurice Kamto, the perpetrators of such act should not go unpunished
“we recall that these atrocities committed against civilians in a zone of armed conflict constitute war crimes, severely punished by Cameroonian law and international law. The MRC calls for an immediate and impartial investigation to ensure that those responsible for these acts are held accountable before the competent courts. «

In such a painful situation, the President of the MRC with a bleeding heart, strongly condemns the act which he considered barbaric “The Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon (MRC) strongly condemns these unbearable acts of barbarism that plunge our Nation into mourning.”

To Maurice Kamto, only a sincere and inclusive dialogue can put an end to the fratricidal war that for almost five years has claimed the lives of many and caused the economic degradation of the Region.
