Society : Logone and Chari Division Women Recommend Dialogue For Peace

Regional Counselor and Peers Well Armed For Peace Mission.

Women of the Logone and Chari Division of the Far North Region of Cameroon on Monday, the 2nd of August 2021, during an exchange dinner at the resident of the CPDM member of parliament of their Division Honorable Mariam Goni have recommended dialogue as a way forward for peace in the country.

A day after the National Women’s Convention for Peace in Cameroon organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the over 30 women who participated in the peace conference are calling on government to ensure that peace reign in the country again. To them, it is only through dialogue not arms that the country can enjoy peace once more.

Djene Abouya, the Regional Counselor of the Far North Region explained “ For peace to reign, they must be dialogue. They can be no peace without dialogue. For dialogue is the catalyst for peace not arms.”  According to her, all hands must be put on deck for the implementation of the recommendations arrived at during the convention.

The women she stated will go at all lengths to lobby for peace to return in the country. Women are mothers of humanity who can work harder to ensure peace reigns in the country. He added.

During the exchange dinner to brainstorm on the recommendations of the convention, she regrets the fact that, moment from her Division in particular and the region as a whole are not financially viable  for economic development .

 The increase rate of school dropout among the young girls who disappear from the academic scene after form three because of marriage has hindered development since without education; it is difficult to achieve sustainable development. She therefore encourages the education of young girls in her region.
