Society : Foreigners Cited As Owners Of Most Lands In The Cities

The State Asked To Carry Out Proper Land Prospection.

The increase in population and the pressure that comes with it in the nearest future will cause a lot of headache to the government if care is not taking. Honorable Evaristus Njong during the special plenary sitting on legal, socio-economic and political aspects of land reorganization has called on Henri Eyebe Ayissi the Minister of State Property and Land Tenure to take stoke of the quantity of land that is owned by the country to avoid it.

The Member of Parliament on the 5th July 2021 at the Yaounde Conference Center reminded the government officials and parliamentarians that, the pressure exerted by the population growth will warrant a change of the national capital in the nearest future. Land grab by foreigners is rampant in most cities “It is alleged our foreign partners have given motorcycles to Cameroonians and take their land while our children ride them and commit crimes in the cities”.

The people’s representative pointed out.The SDF parliamentarian urged the government to be abreast with the quantity of  land owned by foreigners before the land is given out “The government should take time to prospects on the subsoil before given out the land “These guys are very smart, they can discover gold in the land and before you know it, they have ownership of all the land”.

If care is not taken, it will be too late for the state to get complete control of the land owned by foreigners. Thus the government will be forced to pay respects to individuals instead of the other way round.
