Other Regions Of The State To Witness The Procedure.
The National popularization campaign of alternative citizens’ budget 2021 has been launched on this day, the 15th October 2021 at the Yaounde Toungou hotel during a launching workshop. The alternative budget is one that does not follow the normal trends.
Though produced by the government with the contribution and the participation of the civil society organizations, it is a budget that is produced solely by them (civil society organizations).
The civil society organizations decided to come up with the alternative budgets due to the misunderstanding with the state which at times experience some delay in the production of the citizens’ budget especially when it comes to the content. Dr. Samuel Biroki the president of PLASNOCAM stated.
To him, the civil organizations are focusing on the societal and infrastructural aspect meanwhile the classical citizens’ budget takes into account the complete structure of the state budget. Moreso, in the alternative citizens’ budget, the citizens are more preoccupied to ensure that the condensed budget reflects on the situation of Cameroonians.
The civil society organizations intervene in the elaboration of the state budget in an indirect way. To the head of the organizations, the implementation of the civil society organizations will be felt this year as the platform members are working with parliamentarians on the control and the evaluation of public actions. They work on the state politics, analyze and make proposal to the parliamentarians who during the questions and answer sessions make the government officials feel uncomfortable.
The mission handed to the members of the civil society organization is to accomplish their tasks with a lot of efficiency.
