Members of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Planning and Territorial Development on Friday, June 18, 2021 were schooled on land and property acquisition procedures which has been a headache in the country. For many years in Cameroon, cases related to land issues are judged in the courts. Many have either buy a piece of land that has been sold to another person or encroached into land that belongs to the state.
To put an end to this cacophony, parliamentarians have to look for means to resolve this problem. Thus at the Yaoundé Conference Center during a seminar, they were given knowledge by land expect on how to acquire land and their procedures. According to the Ministry of State Property and Land Tenure, Many Cameroonians acquire land without following the normal procedures which are not cumbersome. The government of Cameroon is undergoing stress when it comes to land issues. Cameroonians talk a lot about what they have little or no knowledge about. There is need for us to explain to the population what they have to know exactly about their rights. He explained.
