Chad : Country Heading Towards A Civil War

Rebels and Military Exchanging Experience.

The sound of guns amplified, bullets flying in the air, fear arresting the hearts of the citizens, population migrating gives a clear signal of civil war. The switching off the breath of the Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno, by the rebels during his encouragement visit to his troops, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in Chad, has left the country in chaos.

No one can gainsay the fact that, the presents of rebels in a country to topple the government indicates the  commencement of a civil war. Since the demise of the president of Chad, Idriss Deby on Tuesday, a day after he was declared the winner of the last presidential elections, gun shots have been heard in the capital city Djamena.

The rebels on one side are firing on the soldiers loyal to the late president, while the Republican guides are in the defensive to defend the state from falling. With this division in the country, the Chadian population in general and those around the capital in particular are not certain of the faith of their country. When a warlord and a president like Idriss Deby with the most dangerous security agents  is brought down easily by rebels, it makes people think of nothing else than a civil war.

The present socio-political instability in Chad  is stilling fear and panic in the heart of Chadians.  While the soldiers have vowed to maintain stability in the country, with the son of the late preisdent, Mahamat Deby Itno acting as president, the rebel are determined to bring down the over 30 years government.
