Population Unable To Move In Or Out Of The Place.
The population of the South Region in general and those of Akom II in particular have been sent to inferno by the state of Cameroon due to the degraded state of the road.
The inhabitants of Akom II recently, have been forced to be prisoners without a crime in their country as it has become very impossible for them to move in or out of the place.
For years, the cry of the inhabitants for a better road network has fallen on deaf hears. Today, it has become practically impossible to move from Akom II to Ebolowa as the road has frowned seriously on the population. We have trekked for two days to get to Ebolowa.
This is really deplorable and sad.
That means, if someone is seriously sick in Akom II, he or she will definitely die for lack of cars to transport the patient to Ebolowa or Kribi. An inhabitant explained.
The degraded road situation of Akom II is highly felt by teachers and students who can’t make it to their institutions of learning. We are stock in Ebolowa for weeks now because drivers who usually go through that road are not longer doing so since the it is not passable. Students and teachers who were on the long vacation are confused as they don’t know what to do. Those of the teaching profession are in a state of dilemma. A head teacher mentioned.
The government of Cameroon should do everything possible to put the Akom II road in order so as to relieve the population from the stress. No one would have imagined that a road that timber trucks ply all the time could get that bad.
