The Cameroon Forest and Environment Network Launches Its Activities.
Senators, Parliamentarians, government officials and members of civil society organizations on the 17th November 2021, gathered in the conference hall of the Merina hotel to support the organization The Cameroon Forest and Environmental Network (CAFEN) in its introductory and launching workshop to discuss the way forward to get the world out of the environmental hazards.
The President of the National Platform of Civil Society Organizations in Cameroon (PLANOSCAM) Samuel Biroki revealed that the threat on the environment or the earth has negative impact on human, animals and plant species. The threats to the environment is blamed mostly on human pressure on the natural resources resulting to negative consequences of grass house gases and air, water and soil pollution must be handled.
According the the PLANOSCAM president, the impact on the environment that is felt globally has created new vulnerabilities that is undermining the economic prosperity, food, water, health and energy security. To him, population growth, rapid urbanization and natural resource management like forest, soil and water are some of the factors that influencing our environment and causing climate change.
Cameroonians have to support, boast and encourage the Cameroon Forest and Environment Network (CAFEN) in the fight against climate change and enhance the protection of our environment. The forest which is a factor of production must be protected, valorized and taking care of in order to make the land sustainable. Bringing together people of different works of life to talk about environmental issues by CAFEN is the best way to intensify the fight against climate change. Senator George Kinyang explains.
To get rid of the drastic effects of climate change in the world, there is the need to radically change our behavior, create a private- public synergy not leaving out the commitment of non-state actions.
