Honorable Mariam GONI Receives Over 30 Leaders.
Over 30 women leaders who represented the Logone and Chari Division of the Far North Region during the National Women’s Convention For Peace in Cameroon organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Yaounde from the 29th to the 31st July 2021, were received by Honorable Mariam Goni, the CPDM member of parliament from that Division to brainstorm on the resolutions and recommendations arrived at for the women to stand for peace in the country.
The over 30 women leaders including some parliamentarians from different fields of life, gathered under the same roof of the people’s representative of Logone and Chari Division during an exchange dinner after the convention to discuss means of implementing the recommendations taken.
Honorable Mariam Goni during the exchange dinner stated “We are out to see how to implement the decisions arrived at during the National Women’s Convention For Peace in Cameroon. It is high time we kicked insecurity and make peace return in the Logone and Chari Division in particular and Cameroon as a whole.”
At the end of the convention, it was recommended that the government should put in place security mechanisms in all the regions in the country to fight against insecurity. The women in the crisis zones of the North West, South West, East and Far North Regions of the Country should be supervised in order that their socio-economic activities should be relaunched. Continuous attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents in the Far North and the separatists in the North West and South West Regions have hindered economic activities in the country.
It is expedient peace should reign for the women to go back into their activities normally. She stated.
