CAF President Patrice Motsepe Re-assures Cameroonians.
The doubt, fears and worries over Cameroon hosting the Total Energies African Nations Cup has been completely deleted by the President of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Patrice Motsepe who took over from Ahmad Ahmad.
During the draw ceremony at the Yaoundé Conference Center on August 17, 2021, the head of the Africa football governing body during his address to the delegation clearly stated “I know many questions will be asked. I will answer them right now; Cameroon is going to host the Nations Cup.”
The President of the Confederation of Africa Football Patrice Motsepe, the South African billionaire at the draw ceremony, appreciated the preparation done so far by the Cameroon government. To him, the CAF delegation is not in any way disappointed with the ways things are unfolding.
He used the opportunity to call on economic operators in Africa to support football in the continent so as to grant it the status it deserves. The government should do everything possible to increase the budget in the sports ministries in their various countries. He pointed out.
To Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of Africa Football, the Africa countries should work hand in gloves in order to realize the dream of an Africa country winning the FIFA world cup in the nearest future. The continent he stated has talented young players who can bring honour to the countries if motivated.
Africa Football legends like Samuel Etoo Fils, Didier Drogba, El Hadji Diof, Rigobert Song, Rabah Madjeh and Asamoah Gyan were all present to witness the draw ceremony.
