Society : Cameroon Land Reforms Envisage To Satisfy The Population

The Holistic and Global Approach A Stepping Stone To Development.

Henri Eyebe Ayissi , the Minister of  State Property, Survey and Land Tenure, during the special plenary sitting on legal Socio-economic and political aspects of  land reorganization on the 5th July 2021  stated that the recent land reforms in Cameroon should never be compared to that of a agrarian  land type or one of a revolutionary type.

To him, the land reform in Cameroon has its own objective “Its purpose or objectives are mainly to rationalize and modernize the land and property regime of our country and to create the conditions for an optimal management of the national land patrimony, in the national interest”.

The land reform to Henri Eyebe Ayissi the Minister of State Property, Survey and Land Tenure, is holistic and has a global approach to satisfy everyone regardless of his or her status “The land reform is, therefore, a holistic process, a global approach that aims, in particular, in relation to the new National Development Strategy 2020-2030 (SND 30), to continue the modernization of the state, cadastral and land management of our country, through the implementation of a vast program of digitization of the Cadastre and securitization of land and land documents and to strengthen access to land for all, Cameroonians, both residents and the Diaspora, and national and foreign investors”.

The lack of control over the boundaries of administrative districts that has lead to the lack of control over the perimeters of interventions of the actors and lack of decentralization of land property management remain aspects to be looked at.
