Prime Minister Visiting Buea To Seek For Solution.
Every 21st September, the International Day of Peace is celebrated globally with different theme that suit the present situation or has an impact. This year International Day of Peace is celebrated under the theme “Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world”.
While the day is being commemorated in some parts of the world peacefully, in other areas, people are snatching their teeth and lamenting because of the absence of the priceless peace.
The International Day of Peace is celebrated in the country barely few days that more than a dozen Cameroonian soldiers lost their lives in the North West Region of the Country and the office of the Divisional Officer of Ndop burnt down by the separatist fighters.
To commemorate the day, the Prime Minister and Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute has made a move to the South West Regional Capital Buea to encourage the population to vine for peace which is the catalyst for development.
For over four years, the state of Cameroon is witnessing partial peace in some parts of the country especially in the two English speaking Regions where killing of both the military and the civilians have become the order of the day. Looting and kidnapping of persons for ransom is now common.
Declaration of more than two weeks ghost town frequent, the destruction of houses, business places noticed nearly on daily basis. The economy is dwindling, towns and villages abandoned, the domicile of many colonized by grass, death threats receive by citizens.
It is high time the government of Cameroon understand that, celebrating a day christened International Day of Peace without putting in place parameters that promote peace in the country makes no sense.
Cameroonians are looking forward for a favourable out come from the Prime Minister’s Visit.
