Over 20 Armed Men Neutralized in Akeh Village.

The emergence visit of the Minister of Defence Joseph Beti Assobo to the North West Region on Wednesday, the 22nd September 2021 under the instruction of the High military commander His Excellency Paul Biya after 16th September attacked on the convoy of the Rapid Intervention Battalion at Bamessing in Ndop Sub Division of the Ngoketunjia Division of the Region killing 15 elements of the elite forces after using an improvised explosive device (IED) and an anti-tank rocket launcher (ATRL) and immobilized the vehicles of the Defence Forces before opening heavy fire on the latter, who were seriously incapacitated by the detonation of the explosive charges as stated by the government is paying off.

The military statement issued revealed that on Sunday, 21st October, over 20 fighters were brought on their knees in Akeh, a small neighbouring community of Fundong in Boyo Division. The defence and security forces according to sources entered the village hunting for one of the dreaded fighter by name “ General No Pity” whose operation has been across Ngoketunjia, Bui, Mezam and Boyo Division.

According to the military statement, General No Pity who could not withstand the pressure from the military abandoned his weapons and disappeared after sustaining injuries as he saw over 20 of his men bowing down or neutralized. On the Ministry of Defence Facebook page, Honneur et Fidelite-Armee Camerounaise, it is mentioned that, many separatist fighters are on the run after sustaining injuries during the Boyo attack.

The statement from the military stated that, four heavy machine guns, pkm typy, eight automatic light fal guns, three light machine guns, famous kalach AK 47, two automatic guns, browning type, two handmade guns, two craft weapons, two cal 12 shot guns and two anti char rockets, twelve charger boxes and over 100 ammunition of various caliber were seized.
