Cameroon : Hommage Paid To Prince Mikody ange a Fallen Parliamentarian

Honorable Prince Mikody Ange Gilbert Leaves Law Makers in Pains.

The presence of members of parliaments, journalists, workers of the Cameroon National Assembly and family members at the Yaounde Conference Center, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 was not for any plenary session or capacity building workshop, but to mourn and bid farewel to one of the youngest parliamentarian, Honorable Prince Mikody Ange Gilbert.

Tears flowing like rivers from the eyes of mourners, eyes colour  reddish, men and women dressed in black, faces moody, cold sound of music paints a clear picture of death. The late Honorable Prince Mikody Ange Gilbert, originated from the Boumba and Ngoko constituency of the East Region. His demised in March 24, 2021 at the Yaounde General Hospital after a brief illness, has left a vacuum in the Committee on Economic Affairs, Programming and Regional Planning.

Members of parliament shocked by his unexpected death, having a heavy heart of pains, regret losing someone as young as Prince who has just started exceling in his political life. Honorable Alexandre Mbe Assae Mendomo, the president of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Programming and Regional Planning of the National Assembly mentioned clear,  » Our commission has lost a dear, intelligent, talented, respectful and calm member. He was like a shooting star. Nothing can explain such brutal disappearance. We find it difficult to accept his departure. He was sympathetic and very responsible. We cry every day and it is a lost to the Republic ».

The Right Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly was duly represented by the Senior Deputy Speaker Honorable Hilarion Etong. The mortal remains of the late Honorable will be laid to rest in his native village at Moloundo in the East Region of Cameroon.
